KENT, Ohio (AP) - Kent State senior running back Eugene Jarvis will miss the rest of the season with a kidney injury.

Coach Doug Martin said Jarvis will be hospitalized for about one week and is expected to make a full recovery within two months.

Jarvis sustained the injury in the first half of Saturday's 34-7 loss to Boston College. He carried 10 times for 17 yards before getting hurt. In the Golden Flashes' season-opening win over Coastal Carolina, Jarvis had 265 all-purpose yards.

The only known three-time captain in Kent's 87-year history, Jarvis rushed for 3,426 career yards, just 563 shy of the school record.

Jarvis rushed for 801 yards last season.

The Golden Flashes (1-1) host Iowa State (1-1) on Saturday.
