RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Carl Edwards is still hobbling around on crutches, but he doesn't expect any trouble from his broken right foot in the biggest race of his NASCAR season.
Edwards heads into Saturday night's Sprint Cup Series race at Richmond that will finalize the field for the 10-race Chase for the championship fifth in driver points. He's the driver highest in the point standings who has not yet clinched his spot among the 12 chase drivers.
Edwards is also driving in the Nationwide Series race Friday night, and will begin that race second in the point standings, 221 behind leader Kyle Busch with nine races left.
