NEW YORK (AP) -- A steady rain has forced the U.S. Open to postpone the women's singles semifinals.
Serena Williams was scheduled to face Kim Clijsters and Yanina Wickmayer was to meet No. 9 Carolina Wozniacki on Friday, but tournament officials decided to move those matches back a day with the forecast calling for more rain.
Officials were still hoping to complete the men's quarterfinal between No. 3 Rafael Nadal and No. 11 Fernando Gonzalez, which was postponed Thursday night with Nadal up a set and leading 3-2 in the second-set tiebreaker.
