RENO, Nev. — Wolf Pack senior golfer Ryan Hallisey won the California State Fair Men’s Amateur Championship Monday in Sacramento, Calif.

A Granite Bay, Calif., native, Hallisey sunk an 18-foot eagle putt on the first hole of the playoff to win the tournament, held on the MacKenzie Course of the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex in Sacramento. He carded a three-under 69 in Monday’s final round for a tournament total of 11-under 205 and tied with Brandon Hagy of Westlake Village, Calif., after 54 holes.

In the playoff, Hallisey made his eagle putt for the victory after Hagy, who will be a freshman at the University of California this year, left his short.

A two-time second-team All-Western Athletic Conference honoree, Hallisey finished second on the team in stroke average last season at 73.12. He turned in four top 20 finishes last year, including a second-place showing at the Stevinson Ranch Invitational in April, and also finished second at the Pacific Coast Amateur Championship last summer in Victoria, B.C.
