Game week is finally here.

Notre Dame hit the field on Tuesday for its first practice in preparation to play Nevada on Saturday at the Stadium.

And you can feel the vibe of excitement from the Irish players.

"We're all pumped," junior wide receiver Golden Tate explained with a big smile. "No more camp, no more two weeks before the game. It's time to turn it on."

"Coach Weis said we need to come out excited at practice because we have a game in a few days. And i think that's what we did. The tempo was up a lot more."

Notre Dame should be able to throw the ball a ton on Saturday as Nevada's pass defense wasn't very good in 2008. But the Irish are also hoping to finally establish their run game this season, after struggling each of the last two seasons.

"I'm very, very excited to run the ball," starting running back Armando Allen said. "The key for us is patience. When Saturday comes, it's just going out on the field and trying to produce."

The Irish and Wolf Pack play at 12:30.
