PHOENIX -- Former Wolf Pack pitcher Chad Qualls is done for the season and Reno's top starter will be taking his place.

The Arizona Diamondbacks placed Qualls on the 60-day disabled list with a dislocated left knee and recalled Billy Buckner.

Qualls landed awkwardly, twisting his left knee after recording the final out in a 4-3 win over the Astros on Sunday.

The 31-year-old was having a career year with the Diamondbacks. Qualls had a 3.63 earned run average with 45 strikeouts in 52 innings. He also posted a career-best 24 saves.

Buckner was supposed to start for the Aces on Monday night. He has an 8.63 earned run average with 33 strikeouts in 40.2 innings for the Diamondbacks this season.
