Royals' Minor-Leaguer Suspended for Violating Drug Policy

NEW YORK (AP) - Kansas City Royals outfielder Nicholas Francis has been suspended for 50 games under baseball's minor league drug program after a second violation for a drug of abuse.

Francis' suspension began Thursday.

The 23-year-old is batting .275 with 16 homers and 66 RBIs in 113 games with Class A Burlington.
