BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) - Argentina coach Diego Maradona is predicting a victory against Brazil in their World Cup qualifier.
Two-time world champion Argentina is struggling to reach the 2010 World Cup, while Brazil leads the South American group. The match is Sept. 5.
Maradona told Radio Palermo in an interview late Monday that Argentina will win "because we have better players."
Maradona said forward Lionel Messi has developed more quickly than he did and has not had major injuries.
Top-ranked Brazil leads South America with 27 points followed by Chile (26), Paraguay (24) and Argentina (22). They are followed by Ecuador (20) and Uruguay (18).
The top four teams in the group advance to South Africa.
