Sparks high graduate Randy Messenger is headed back to the big leagues.
The Seattle Mariners selected Messenger's contract from Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday, according to multiple sources.
The 28-year-old has spent the entire season with the Rainiers, primarily working as the team's closer.
Messenger has an 0-2 record and a 2.25 earned run average in Tacoma.
His 25 saves are second best in the Pacific Coast League.
