Kaepernick Named to Maxwell Award Watch List

RENO - Colin Kaepernick has been named to the Maxwell Award watch list.

The award is handed out annually to the most oustanding college player in the country.

Kaepernick was the 2008 WAC Offensive Player of the year and has been named the 2009 Preseason WAC Offensive Player of the Year.

The junior quarterback passed for 2,849 yards and ran for 1,130 yards last season, becoming just the 5th player in NCAA history to surpass 2,000 passing and 1,000 rushing in the same season.

Kaepernick is one of 55 collegiate players named to the watch list.
