Bruised ARod And Posada Sit Out Yankees Win

SEATTLE (AP) - Alex Rodriguez and Jorge Posada are out, Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera are in.

New York began a four-game series at Seattle on Thursday night with several stars banged up, though manager Joe Girardi said he expects to have his regulars back soon.

Rodriguez was hit by a pitch on his left elbow in the 11th inning of a particularly brutal win over Toronto on Wednesday. He said the tingling in his hand stopped 20 minutes after that game.

He'd been scheduled for an off day Thursday, and Girardi said A-Rod could also be out Friday.

Posada has a couple of bruised fingers on his left hand after he got hit with foul tips while catching Wednesday. He said he could have started Thursday.

Jeter said "everything's good" a day after X-rays were negative on his bruised right foot.
