Aces Return Home On Friday Night For Second-To-Last Homestand

RENO, Nev. — The Reno Aces are set to return home on Friday night to kick-off an eight-game homestand, highlighted by fireworks, bobbleheads and more.

The homestand kicks-off in a big way on Friday when the Aces begin a four-game series with the Round Rock Express, Triple-A Affiliate of the Houston Astros. The opener will be a Fireworks Friday, presented by KOLO 8, and kids are invited to run the bases after the game, thanks to Dr. David Welmerink.

Also on Friday, the Aces partner with the Food Bank of Northern Nevada, the Cities of Reno and Sparks and Washoe County for the Great Peanut Butter Challenge. The Food Bank will have barrels available at the gates for donations of peanut butter, an excellent source of protein desperately needed by families depending upon the Food Bank to help them at this time. Fans are asked to bring jars of peanut butter to donate by dropping them in a bin of their choice marked Sparks, Reno or Washoe County.

Saturday’s game will feature one of the most anticipated promotions of the season as 2,500 fans will walk away with a Josh Whitesell bobblehead. Fans are encouraged to get their tickets early, to ensure the best chance of walking away with a bobblehead bearing the likeness of the popular Whitesell, who is now manning first base for the Arizona Diamondbacks. After the game, kids can again run the bases, courtesy of Dr. Welmerink.

Sunday’s game, set for a 5:05 p.m. start, is a Fox Family Sunday. Once again, the Aces and Dr. Welmerink will offer kids the chance to run the bases after the ballgame.

On Tuesday, the Aces begin a four-game series with the Albuquerque Isotopes, Triple-A Affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. PT.

The third game of the series will be a Coors Light Thursday Night, with $2 beer specials available at select locations throughout the ballpark.

The second-to-last homestand of the season comes to a close on Friday, Aug. 21 with another Fireworks Friday, presented by KOLO 8. After the aerial display, kids are welcome to run the bases, thanks to Dr. Welmerink.
