Adviser: Crabtree May Sit Out Season, Re-Enter NFL Draft

49ers receiver Michael Crabtree may sit out the 2009 NFL season and re-enter the 2010 draft. This according to his adviser (and cousin) David Wells.

But Crabtree's agent told ESPN.com that the threat has not been made on behalf of Crabtree himself.

Crabtree and the 49ers are far apart in their negotiations on a contract. San Francisco selected the Texas Tech wide receiver with the 10th overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft.

He caught 97 passes for 1,165 yards and 19 touchdowns last year during his sophomore season. He had 231 receptions for 3,127 yards and 41 TDs during his two seasons in Lubbock.
