Pack's Drummond Named to Presason All-WAC Soccer Team

RENO, Nev. – Junior Cristen Drummond was named to the preseason All-WAC team while Nevada was picked to finish fifth by the league’s coaches the Western Athletic Conference announced Tuesday.

Drummond, Nevada’s leading scorer in 2008 with four goals, was named to the All-WAC First Team and the WAC All-Tournament team as sophomore. She has recorded 21 career points (nine goals and three assists) and is tied for sixth all-time in Nevada history in goals.

As a team, the Pack was picked to finish fifth in the nine-team league. Utah State was picked first followed by Hawai`i, Fresno State and Boise State.

Nevada will open the 2009 season with an exhibition game against Feather River College on August 15 at 2 p.m. in Mackay Stadium. Admission to the exhibition game is free.

The Pack will open the regular season at Cal on August 21 and will play its first regular-season home game on August 28 versus UC Santa Barbara.
