CHICAGO (AP) - Tampa Bay reliever Chad Bradford left in the seventh inning of the Rays' game against the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday night after he apparently hurt himself warming up on the mound.
Tampa Bay led 3-1 with two outs in the seventh inning, with runners on second and third when manager Joe Maddon called on Bradford from the bullpen. After several warm-up pitches, Bradford appeared to feel discomfort.
Maddon and a team trainer visited and Maddon then replaced Bradford with right-hander reliever Dan Wheeler to face Alexei Ramirez.
Ramirez hit a tying triple to center after B.J. Upton misjudged the ball and Jermaine Dye followed with a RBI single to take a 4-3 lead for the White Sox.
