Former Wolf Pack pitcher Eddie Bonine will be recalled by the Detroit Tigers this week.
Tigers manager Jim Leyland confirmed announced the move on Wednesday, adding that Bonine will start the second game of a doubleheader on Friday. But he'll be sent right back to Triple-a Toledo right after the game.
Bonine has gone 2-4 with a 4.67 ERA in 12 games this season with the Mud Hens. He also pitched one complete game.
Bonine was on the Tigers' Opening Day roster. He appeared in just four games as a relief pitcher, finishing with a 9.00 ERA in eight innings.
He was much better last season. He started five games with Detroit, going 2-1 with a 5.42 ERA.
