ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - The Oakland Athletics have optioned left-hander Dana Eveland to Triple-A Sacramento.

The move was announced before Friday night's game against Tampa
Bay. Eveland had been designated for assignment on Tuesday night.

Eveland was supposed to be a mainstay in the A's rotation this season but was sent to Sacramento in May. He was recalled Monday when Dallas Braden went on the bereavement list and gave up four runs and six hits in 2 2-3 innings Tuesday against Boston.

Eveland is 1-3 with an 8.00 ERA in seven games, including six starts.
