TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - New Arizona basketball coach Sean Miller has added to his already impressive first recruiting class.
Point guard Lamont "MoMo" Jones of New York, and forward Derrick Williams of La Mirada, Calif., have signed letters of intent to play for the Wildcats, the school said Tuesday.
Jones was rated the 68th-best high school senior overall and 11th-best point guard by Rivals.com. The 6-foot-7 Williams was rated 72nd overall and the 25th-best power forward.
Jones averaged 21 points and eight assists per game in leading Oak Hill Academy to a 41-1 record last season. Williams averaged 25 points and 12 rebounds while shooting 40 percent from 3-point range for La Mirada High School.
The signings give Miller five new recruits. The others are Solomon Hill, Kyryl Natazhko and Kevin Parrom.
