Former Wolf Pack golfer Charlie Wi has qualified for next week's U.S. Open.
Wi shot a 3-under par (141) during the two-round qualifier in Somis, California. It was the best score of any golfer after 36 holes. He was the only one to finish the rounds under par.
It'll be just the second major appearance of his career. Wi finished 9th in the 2008 PGA Championship. He's won seven professional events, but he has never won a PGA Tour event.
Wi played golf as a freshman at the University of Nevada. He later transferred to the University of California.
The U.S. Open Begins on June 18th.
