The Reno Aces won the opening game of a four-game series on Saturday night, beating the Portland Beavers 2-1 in 10 innings.
Luke Carlin drove in Ruben Gotay for the winning run with an RBI single in the top of the 10th. Alex Romero drove in the team's other run, going 1-3 at the plate. He's now batting .361 with 39 RBI.
Seth Etherton pitched seven innings, giving up just one run on five hits. He also struck out three batters. Bobby Korecky (2-1) picked up the win for Reno, pitching 1.1 scoreless innings of relief.
The win improves the Aces to 26-31 overall. They remain in third place in the PCL Pacific South standings. Reno is 9.5 games out of first place.
The Aces are back on the field on Saturday night. First pitch is set for 7:05pm.
