ANAGNI, Italy – Luke Babbitt scored 34 points and Armon Johnson had 33 as the Wolf Pack men’s basketball trip turned in a 108-79 victory over Anagni Basket Sunday night at the Palazzetto dello Sport.
With the victory, Nevada wraps up its foreign tour with a 5-0 record.
The Wolf Pack opened up an 11-0 lead to start the game and never looked back. Nevada led 53-38 at halftime.
Babbitt, who will be a sophomore next year, and senior-to-be Brandon Fields led the team with 11 rebounds apiece. In addition to the 30-point efforts from Babbitt and Johnson, sophomore-to-be Dario Hunt added 20 points and eight rebounds, while Fields scored 14 points. Johnson paced the squad with seven assists, while Fields added six.
“We continued to share the ball. Everybody knows their roles better every time we play,” Fields said. “People here really appreciate our talent. They are very friendly and take pictures before the game and applaud us all through the game. It’s really cool.”
The Wolf Pack toured the Colosseum and the Roman Forum on Sunday morning and will wrap up its trip on Monday with a trip to Vatican City. Nevada will then head home to Reno on Tuesday with memories to last a lifetime.
