Chris Gimenez is in the majors for the first time. The former Wolf Pack outfielder has been called-up by the Cleveland Indians.
Gimenez will replace the injured Grady Sizemore on the Indians' roster. Sizemore was placed on the 15-day disabled list with tendinitis in his left elbow.
Gimenez was batting just .235 at AAA Columbus, with six home runs and 15 RBI in 39 games. He was likely called-up due to his versatility. Gimenez made 24 starts at catcher this season, 11 in the outfield and three at first base.
He was originally a 19th round pick out of Nevada back in the 2004 MLB Draft.
