DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - Chris Richard hit his second grand slam of the game for Triple-A Durham in the bottom of the 11th inning Friday night, matching an International League record that hadn't been accomplished in more than 50 years.

The 34-year-old Richard became the fifth player in league history to hit two in a game, the previous time coming in 1957 when Mike Baxes did it for Buffalo.

Richard, who homered on the first big league pitch he faced with St. Louis in 2000, hit his first slam in the eighth inning. He then connected in the 11th to give Durham a 13-9 win over Louisville.

In four major league seasons, Richard has 34 homers and 122 RBIs while batting .258 for St. Louis, Baltimore and Colorado. He hasn't been called up since 2003.
