CARSON CITY –Western Nevada College softball player Ambar Huish has been named to the Scenic West Athletic Conference All Conference second team for her outstanding effort in the 2009 season.

According to Head Coach Scott Rasner, Ambar batted .349 for the season, with only four errors. In addition, she maintained a 3.8 (A) grade point average over two years as a student at WNC, and will receive her associate degree next week at the WNC commencement ceremonies.

The Lowry High School graduate still has one year of eligibility to play softball at WNC, if she chooses to stay another year and continue her education.

“I’m hoping Ambar will decide to stay another year with the team,” Coach Rasner said. “She’ll be hard to replace.”
