RENO, Nev. (AP) - Marko Cukic, a 6-foot-9 power forward who moved to the United States from Serbia in 2007, has signed a letter of intent to play basketball next season at Nevada.

Athletic Department spokeswoman Rhonda Lundin confirms that the 235-pound Cukic committed to the Wolf Pack on Wednesday.

Cukic trained last season at the IMG Basketball Academy in Bradenton, Fla. He averaged 10 points and seven rebounds a game playing against teams in Florida's junior college system.

Cukic had been considering some Ivy League schools and didn't visit the Nevada campus until last week. He tells the Reno Gazette-Journal he plans to return to Serbia next week to try out for the country's national team.
