BRUSSELS (AP) - Former world cycling champion Tom Boonen will be
given a heavy fine by his team on top of his indefinite suspension after testing positive for cocaine a second time. The Belgian will be allowed to stay with the Quick Step team.
The winner of the Paris Roubaix classic last month tested positive out of competition. His team said Monday he will enter treatment. The team added that he is not addicted but failed to control himself during the offseason.
The amount of the fine has yet to be announced.
