VENICE, Italy (AP) - TV viewers in the United States will get a chance to watch Lance Armstrong compete in his first Giro d'Italia on KOLO X-tra, digital channel 8.2.

Race organizers announced a four-year deal with NBC-operated Universal Sports on Friday, a day before the three-week race begins.

NBC Universial is carried on KOLO, digital channel 8.2, or cable channel 228. The race will be shown Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 11am, with repeats from 6pm to 8pm and 8pm to 10pm.

Armstrong, the seven-time Tour de France champion, has said he doesn't have a shot at winning the Giro after three and a half years of retirement and breaking his collarbone in March. He plans to aid Astana teammate and fellow American Levi Leipheimer in his bid to win the Italian classic.
