Reno Aces first baseman Josh Whitesell is headed back to the big leagues after tearing up the Pacific Coast League.
Multiple sources say Whitesell will join the Diamondbacks in San Diego on Wednesday night where he will take the place of Tony Clark who has been placed on the 15-day disabled list.
Whitesell is hitting .356 for the Aces with a .477 on-base percentage and a .552 slugging. He has six doubles, one triple and three home runs in 87 at-bats.
He hit .286 with one home run and an RBI in seven at-bats with Arizona last season.
