A member of the University of San Francisco's basketball champions from the 1950s is dead.
The school said Tuesday that Hal Perry died last week in the East Bay after a long illness.
Perry teamed with Bill Russell and K.C. Jones on San Francisco's back-to-back NCAA champions in 1955 and '56. He was a starter for two years as the team went 57-1 and dominated college basketball.
He was a member of the all-tournament team in 1956, when the Dons went 29-0 to win it all for a second straight year.
