Gordon Placed on 15-Day DL, Rosales Recalled from AAA Reno

The Arizona Diamondbacks have placed reliever Tom Gordon on the 15-day disabled list because of a left hamstring strain and recalled right-hander Leo Rosales from Triple-A Reno.

This is the 10th trip to the DL for Gordon, a three-time All-Star who began his big league career in 1988 with Kansas City and saved 46 games for Boston 10 years later.

The 41-year-old right-hander, who has been bothered by a sore arm the last 2½ seasons, was just beginning his latest comeback from elbow inflammation that sidelined him for the final three months of the 2008 campaign with the World Series champion Philadelphia Phillies and forced him to undergo surgery.
