The Western Nevada College baseball team has done it again. In only its fourth season of play, the Wildcats have captured their second Scenic West Athletic Conference title. WNC took a doubleheader from the struggling Colorado Northwestern Community College Spartans in Rangely Friday to secure the league title.

Western finishes 32-6 in the SWAC, 38-12 overall, and ranked 11th by the National Junior College Athletic Association. As SWAC champion, Western Nevada will host the District XVIII championship Wednesday through Saturday, May 6-9. The six-team, double elimination tournament will be played at John L. Harvey Field at the main campus.

Teams include College of Southern Nevada, College of Southern Idaho, Salt Lake Community College, College of Eastern Utah, and CNCC. The winner advances to a district championship round and that winner goes on to the Junior College World Series in Grand Junction, Colo. on May 23.
