ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - The Oakland Athletics at Texas Rangers game Wednesday night was postponed by to rain.
The game, called after a delay of one hour, will be made up as part of a doubleheader on May 29.
The rainout was well-timed for the short-handed A's, who earlier in the day placed infielders Nomar Garciaparra and Mark Ellis on the 15-day disabled list and were without first baseman Jason Giambi, who was nursing sore hamstrings on both legs.
Oakland has lost six of its last eight while Texas has won four of five.
The A's were rained out for the second time this season. An April 20 road game against the New York Yankees was washed out.
The Rangers had their first rainout of the season.
