French swimmer Frederick Bousquet has set a world record in the 50-meter freestyle, becoming the first person to break the 21-second barrier.
Bousquet set the record Sunday at the French championships by finishing in 20.94 seconds. He beat Australian swimmer Eamon Sullivan's record of 21.28, set in March 2008.
Alain Bernard, who broke Sullivan's world record in the 100 freestyle Thursday, was second in 21.23.
