Nevada basketball coach David Carter says the Wolf Pack have hired a new assistant coach who spent the last two seasons as an assistant at Seattle University.

Keith Brown helped lead Seattle to a 21-8 record this season, the team's most victories since the 1984-85 season. Before that, he was an assistant for four years at the University of Portland.

Brown says he has known Carter for many years and considers him to be a mentor.

A Los Angeles native, Brown was an assistant coach at El Camino College in Torrance, Calif., from 1998-2002. He also spent three years as an assistant varsity coach at Inglewood High School in California.

Carter was named Nevada's coach earlier this month when Mark Fox
took the job at Georgia.
