Nevada’s Ryan Hallisey and San Jose State’s Erica Moston have been named the Western Athletic Conference Golfers of the Week for April 6-12.
Hallisey, a junior from Granite Bay, Calif. (Granite Bay HS), helped lead Nevada to a victory at the Stevinson Ranch Invitational, April 6-7. Hallisey finished in second place, just one stroke off the leader, with a 7-under par 209 (71-69-69). It was the first time this year that Hallisey had posted two rounds under 70 and all three rounds under par.
Moston, a senior from Belmont, Calif. (Notre Dame HS), won her second tournament of the year with a 2-under par 214 (71-73-70) at the Ryder Canes and Cardinal Classic in Miami Lakes, Fla., April 6-7. Moston was the only individual player under par and her effort helped lead San Jose State to its fourth team victory in its last four tournaments. Moston has posted 18 of 22 rounds at even or under par this season.
The other men’s nominations were Boise State senior Scott Loewen, Fresno State junior Grant Doverspike and Idaho junior Brad Tensen.
The other women’s nominations were Boise State junior Iris Ocariza and Fresno State senior Taylor Seibert.
