Former Wolf Pack and New York Yankees pitcher Darrell Rasner won his first game in Japan on Sunday, giving up three hits over the distance in the Rakuten Eagles' 4-1 win over the Seibu Lions.
Rasner (1-0) struck out eight and walked none in the 116-pitch outing. The only run he gave up was a solo homer to Takeya Nakamura in the second inning.
In his first start a week ago, Rasner gave up six runs in 3 1-3 innings.
Rasner was 5-10 last season with a 5.40 ERA in 24 games and 20 starts for the Yankees, who sold his contract to the Eagles in November.
