SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Courtney Paris is returning to California.
The former Oklahoma star who grew up in the East Bay town of Piedmont, Calif., was selected to the Sacramento Monarchs with the seventh pick in today's WNBA draft.
Paris is the only four-time All-American in women's college basketball. She led the Sooners to the Final Four this season, averaging 15.9 points and 13.6 rebounds per game.
Paris set 20 NCAA records in her career and became the first college basketball player in history to record 2,500 points and 2,000 rebounds in a career.
Paris is the daughter of former 49ers lineman Bubba Paris.
