SEATTLE (AP) - Seven-foot center Joe Wolfinger has decided to leave Washington's basketball team before his senior season.

Huskies coach Lorenzo Romar confirmed through a school spokesman on Thursday that the product of Aloha High School in Beaverton, Ore., was leaving the UW program.

Wolfinger averaged 2.4 points and 5.9 minutes per game this past season. Washington devalued Wolfinger's size as it went to a more athletic lineup while returning to the NCAA tournament.

Wolfinger redshirted his freshman season then missed all the 2006-07 season because of a stress fracture in his right foot. He played in 41 games, with one start, over the last two seasons.

He is expected to transfer to a Division II school so he can be eligible to play next season.
