Utah State men's basketball coach Stew Morrill says he's no longer a candidate for the head coaching job at Washington State University.
Morrill met with officials from Washington State on Sunday. Before the start of the 2008-09 season, he had signed a contract extension with Utah State through 2014-15.
Morrill says in a statement released Monday by Utah State that he will not pursue other coaching jobs, adding that Washington State contacted him but it was understood it would be difficult to leave Utah.
Morrill, the school's all-time winningest coach, just ended his 11th season at Utah State. The Aggies finished with a 30-5 record and made the NCAA tournament.
