Nevada catcher Travis Simas has been named the Western Athletic Conference baseball player of the week after driving in seven runs with three home runs and two doubles.
Simas went 9-for-15 at the plate and scored eight runs in three
wins over Louisiana Tech last week. The senior from Elk Grove,
Calif., also threw out two of four runners attempting steals to
give him a WAC-best 10 for the season.
