Nevada's Garcia shares WAC player honors this week

Nevada cornerback Joe Garcia was named the Western Athletic Conference defensive player of the week.
A senior from West Minster, Calif., Garcia made six tackles and
had two interceptions in Nevada's 31-21 win Saturday over
Northwestern.
With Nevada trailing 7-0 in the first quarter, Garcia
intercepted a pass at the Pack's 16-yard line that led to a
game-tying touchdown.
In the fourth quarter, Northwestern trailed 24-21 before Garcia
intercepted another pass and returned it 24 yards for the
game-clinching touchdown.
Boise State running back Ian Johnson was named WAC offensive
player of the week, while San Jose State punt returner James Jones
received the honor for special teams players.
Nevada travels to Las Vegas this week to take on rival U-N-L-V
Saturday night.
