A local family has begun taking donations for the Cal Ripken Baseball League. The goal is to supply kids with gear that they could not afford themselves.
The Waldman family is asking people to donate their used baseball gear. They need gloves, bats, equipment bags, cleats, etc. They also need new jockstraps and protective cups.
Those interested in helping out can either call Jessica Evans at (775) 830-8252 or drop them off at Tommy's Grand Stand. That business is located at 830 Meredith Way in Sparks.
