ESPN is reporting that Kentucky is interested in Memphis coach John Calipari. But so far they have not contacted Memphis for permission to speak with the Tigers' head coach.
Multiple sources say that Calipari is interested in taking over the UK program.
Calipari has led Memphis to four consecutive Sweet 16 appearances, including a berth in the 2008 National Championship.
Kentucky fired Billy Gillispie on Friday. Gillispie went 40-27 during his two years in Lexington, including 22-14 this season. Those 14 losses were the second-most in the 106 year history of the Kentucky program.
