A Los Angeles judge has refused to throw out part of a lawsuit claiming Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dennis Northcutt arranged the beating of his pregnant ex-girlfriend.
Northcutt's attorneys lost their bid Friday to have a Superior
Court judge dismiss a claim of negligent hiring - one of several
allegations made in the suit by Sharri Henry.
She contends Northcutt sent his cousin to a Hollywood club last
May to hit her in the face and disfigure her. Her attorney says she
was four months pregnant at the time.
Henry's suit, which also names the Sunset Boulevard club,
alleges battery, assault, conspiracy and negligent hiring.
The 31-year-old Northcutt has denied wrongdoing. He was not in
court for the hearing.
