BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A former NBA player and ex-Reno Bighorn is due in a Buffalo courtroom to face a money laundering charge that authorities say is connected to an alleged drug operation.
Damone Brown was released by the NBA Development League's Reno
squad following his arrest last month. The former star at Syracuse was among more than 30 people charged with participating in a Buffalo drug operation.
Federal prosecutors say the 29-year-old Brown leased a safe deposit box at Citizens Bank in Buffalo that was used by a drug kingpin to store proceeds.
