A former University of Illinois gymnastics coach has pleaded guilty to videotaping a gymnast in a campus locker room.

Jon Valdez, who also coached at the Beijing Olympics, pleaded
guilty to one count of unauthorized videotaping Tuesday in an
Urbana courtroom.

Champaign County State's Attorney Julia Rietz says Valdez was
sentenced to two years of probation and 50 hours of community

Chicago attorney Lance Northcutt represented Valdez. Northcutt
says the former coach hopes the plea puts the episode behind him.

Valdez was charged after a 22-year-old student gymnast found a
video camera hidden in a locker in September.

Valdez resigned in October.
