Olympic champion Federica Pellegrini has lowered her world record in the 200-meter freestyle at an Italian swim meet.
Pellegrini clocked 1 minute, 54.47 seconds Sunday, shaving 0.35
seconds off her winning time at the Beijing Olympics last year.
The record comes two days after Pellegrini stepped off the
starting block because of a panic attack before the 400 free.
Italy is warming up for the world championships in Rome,
scheduled for July 18-Aug. 2.
