Oakland's Justin Duchscherer was scheduled to see a doctor Tuesday to have his sore right elbow examined.
The two-time All-Star, the Athletics' projected opening-day
starter, began experiencing tightness in the elbow two weeks into
spring training. The right-hander has yet to appear in a game but
has maintained a throwing program.
"It's a precautionary thing," A's manager Bob Geren said.
"It's been a little tender."
Geren said Duchscherer may have an MRI.
Duchscherer was 10-8 with a 2.54 ERA in 22 starts last season,
his first as a starter.
