American Lindsey Vonn has won the downhill championship after race in Bulgaria.
The 24-year-old clinched her second straight title in the
disciple - the only American to do so since Picabo Street in 1995
and 1996.
Vonn finished in 12th place Friday, but her time of 1 minute,
48.0 seconds was enough to win with only one downhill race
remaining on the circuit.
Vonn also leads the overall standings with a 336-point lead over
Germany's Maria Riesch in the overall tally.
Austrian Andrea Fischbacher won Friday's race in 1:45.81
seconds.
