Reigning national player of the year Tyler Hansbrough has broken the NCAA's career record for free throws made.
The 6-foot-9 senior tied Dickie Hemric's mark of 905 with 6:43
left in the first half of Saturday's game against Georgia Tech.
Then he surpassed it by swishing a foul shot with 14:54 to play.
In typical Hansbrough fashion, the Tar Heels' big man appeared
oblivious to the record until his accomplishment was announced to
the crowd a few minutes later during a time out while he was in a
huddle.
Hemric set the record while playing at Wake Forest in the early
1950s.
